A year and 5 month off driving

Well briefly I've had a year and 5 month off driving. Not going into detail as I've covered everything on a forum. In July last year I was in a serious car accident. Don't remember it but no other memory loss. Very lucky to be alive let alone me full recovery like I have. Sadly I lost my dog in the accident took a few month to come to terms with it. I was brought another pup from my nan who has helped me no end and as my nan sadly died this year so the new dog means extra to me now.

Right back to driving part.  Had to inform DVLA about the accident and was warned for the first year I had increased risk of having seizures. Didn't need to mention that part to DVLA as I hadn't had any and still haven't. The DVLA took ages between each letter checking medical info and eventually decided I had to have an eye test which I passed. I'm still waiting for my licence back which was kept when I sent it for new photo but have been told I am ok to drive again. My last car was wrote off so I have been looking round for another and today found a 3 door punto which I am getting on Monday.

I will still take my new dog in car when going somewhere for a walk but he will have a harness on every time. I don't feel at all nervous about driving again maybe I will when the time comes. I'm letting someone who I know who can drive sit with me on Monday while I drive for first time since the accident. Them on Tuesday will be taking my mum and dog to a lake for a walk.

2 month of driving every day still loving it

Had my car just over 2 month now drove every day and still love it. Can bay park well now forwards and backwards. Been on motorway a few times and twoce in dark. Know the way to worksop but get lost coming back cos you have to exit car park different way to coming in. had to do emergency stop at about 30mph car in front had stopped no idea how I didn't go in back of it was very close.

Still driving everyday

Went to a place near me called Roche Abbey with my mum and 2 dogs had to drive on very narrow bumpy road got there ok. Coming back I said to my mum what would happrn if another car came other way and guess one of us would have to reverse al way back. Well set of back and what happens... another car coming other way luckily they had room to pull in for me to get past. Then another car appears with cars behind, no where for any of us to pull in so man in other car asks me to reverse as there is a load of cars behind him. My mum is saying to me tell them you have only just passed so they will have to revese and as I'm reversing the other cars move closer so my mum is saying tell them not to get to close I just tell her to shut up. Luckily there is a gap to pull into so they can pass.

Took my nan shopping a few times and on a cross roads turning right I stall car 1st time on road that its happened since passing.

My ca had a car wash other week 1st one. Was bit nervous but went well. Went on the 1st road I ever drove on, on my 1st lessons and the 1st junction I did which I messed up totally at time did ok this time though.

Had a long drive yesterday went on dual carriageway that I used 5th gear for 1st time and had a go on motorway again I knew I'd like motorways.

Went to worksop and got lost a few times

Monday I decided to go for a drive and went a way I used to go on lessons into town then got lost heading for meadowhall but didn't find it not that I was trying to then followed signs for town again and went on motorway for a bit only one junction then found my way back.

Tuesday went Worksop with my mum and got lost past the same pub 3 times but found the way. Coming back we got totally lost my mum was panicing missed a turning cos my mum decided to tell me when I should of been steering round the corner and I was on national speed limit road going at about 50mph I didn't think it was good idea to take bend at that speed. Finally found ourselves back near home. Later took my mum shopping and practiced a few reverse bay parks which went well got parked well.

Wednesday took my nan shopping and later had a drive on lanes in the dark went well.

Driving every day

Well took my mum shopping a few times shs still telling me everything even though she can't drive, she doesn't like me driving above 40mph on national speed limit roads even if road is clear and straight. We past a sign warning of a double bend and she says slow down theres a zig zag then tells me to stop laughing. I had to move to left for an ambulance to pass one day on my own managed that quite well. I went for a run on my own and went round where I had lessons and found retail world a area with shops close to test centre then went different way home so I'm learning different ways now. Went back to retail world for dinner yesterday and a look round. Took my 2 dogs in car with my mum to a lake near me and walked round it with dogs.

More driving

Thursday I took my nan shopping got parked quite well thats not much in a full day. Friday (yesterday) took my mum to doctors she still thinks I need to be told everything when driving and had little run round. Today going for diesel and a run and mite be picking my mum up from work.

Took my mum shopping and on motorway

Took my mum shopping yesterday and had a run on my own on national speed limit roads. Only been out once today so far but for a long run on motorway ended up in Leeds and then went in circles lost and finally found M1 and lucily it was the right one that I needed so got back ok. My car struggles round mini roundabouts as I had to go right on one today and couldn't get round without going over keb. Also today had to brake hard to avoid hitting the car in front and avoid going through red light though I was trying to work out which way to go.
